CRM Tools Included In Active Purchase Release

January 15, 2008

Active Modules has announced the release of Active Purchase, a customizable Web site module providing on-line communities and small businesses a way for customers to purchase products from their Web site.

The release includes CRM tools with options for the checkout process, as well as statistical reports and product performance tracking. Functions available include Order History, Discounts and Coupons, Invoice Creation, Custom Wizard Steps and Dedicated Support.

Active Purchase requires DotNetNuke, a free Web application framework for creating and deploying commercial Web sites.

Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Active Modules is a software development company offering custom products focused around DotNetNuke and the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Last May Active Modules announced a new version of their signature product Active Forums, which company officials say "continues to raise the bar for DotNetNuke modules."

"With the latest release of DotNetNuke, we are now able to introduce some of the latest technology for Web development. The end result allows Active Forums to offer an easier to use and faster user experience," said Will Morgenweck, President of Active Modules, Inc. at the time.

New features and enhancements include sub forums, which provide an additional level to help organize forum discussions, and post previews so users can preview their content.

There's also an enhanced search engine for quick and accurate search results, and banner advertising, for integration with the DotNetNuke banner management system

Earlier last spring Active Modules announced a new version of its Customer Relationship Management application, Active CRM.

The major updates are in the sales and marketing module, and are largely designed to manage leads more effectively and provide a better transition throughout the sales cycle.

The leads section was re-written so that it is easier to use and track potential customers. The updated leads section features automated communications and has print and export functions. Custom fields were also designed for leads, customers and companies and allow users to manage specific data for their own requirements, and a template library was also added to streamline communication tasks.

Active CRM 1.1 is a browser-based application that allows for easy maintenance, remote access and minimal workstation requirements. Its role-based security provides organizations with varying levels of data security.
