Intrado Partners with AristaTek to Enhance Safety of First Responders

April 28, 2011

Intrado, a provider of 9-1-1 technology solutions, asserted that it has collaborated with AristaTek to furnish critical information to 9-1-1 centers so that first responders are able to better protect themselves, the public and property while encountering hazmat and improvised explosive device (IED) incidents.

AristaTek has qualified for the Intrado A9-1-1 Alliance Member Program, a managed services program designed to create opportunities for companies to enhance 9-1-1 responsiveness and throughput by combining their resources with Intrado via open standard interfaces.

Intrado claimed that it developed the Advanced 9-1-1 with a vision of advancing the current 9-1-1 system to offer more effective ways of delivering critical data that can assist in deployment of first responders and save more lives in the communities they serve. The A9-1-1 Alliance Member Program supposedly helps content providers ensure their solutions and services are fully compatible with industry standards, while providing an open forum for thought partnership across the emergency communications industry.

Intrado expressed its delight to certify AristaTek as the newest member of its data partner program and stated that it is looking forward to working with them to provide 9-1-1 centers with critical information about hazmat and potential IED incidents. The Intrado A9-1-1 program can dramatically improve situational awareness by delivering gunshot detection, premise data, hazmat information and other critical data directly to the appropriate 9-1-1 center.

Officials with AristaTek exclaimed that Hazmat and IED incidents are among the most dangerous and potentially devastating incidents first responders can face. The alliance with Intrado will allow AristaTek to provide in-depth hazmat and explosives data directly to 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers who can easily share the information with police, fire, EMS, bomb squads and hazmat response professionals.

Now AristaTek will be able to access Intrado's advanced 9-1-1 infrastructure to seamlessly send information about hazardous substances from its database and its ability to quickly map-off distances to 9-1-1 centers. First responders, while working in dangerous and hazardous situations can take informed and safe decisions using the information provided to them which in turn saves more lives, protects environment and prevents property damage.
