VAI Announces Strategic Partnership with Mid-Range Computer Group

December 05, 2007

Vormittag Associates Inc. (VAI), a company specializing in enterprise solutions for the distribution, manufacturing, retail and service industries, has announced today a strategic partnership with Canadian-based Mid-Range Computer Group.

This partnership was formed to offer VAI’s S2K Enterprise software suite throughout Canada. This strategic arrangement is expected to enhance VAI’s reach by increasing the company’s exposure in the Canadian enterprise management industry.

An IBM Premier Business Partner, Mid-Range has been servicing the Canadian business community for more than 20 years with IBM eServer related products and services. Mid-Range is considered one of the largest resellers of IBM products in North America, focusing on the sale, service and outsourcing of the IBM eServer line, including the i5/iSeries, p5/pSeries, xSeries, Blade Center, storage and backup solutions.

Brian Angle, Senior Sales Executive, VAI, said in a Wednesday statement, "As a major developer of ERP software for the IBM System i, VAI understands that a partnership with Mid-Range, one of the leading IBM dealers in Canada, is the ideal addition to our Canadian reseller portfolio.”

“Combined with the recent strengthening of the Canadian dollar, this partnership provides the right conditions for an aggressive marketing push in the region," Angle added.

"We are eager to offer our customers access to VAI's S2K product line," said Tom Burton, Vice President, Business Development & Acquisitions, Mid-Range, in Wednesday’s statement.

"This solution gives Mid-Range customers access to a full-service software line for the IBM platform. Since S2K is designed specifically for the System i, it allows streamlined implementation, customized options and integrated functionality."

Also an IBM Premier Business Partner, VAI is headquartered in Ronkonkoma, New York. The company’s S2K Enterprise is designed for the mid-range market and is used by a wide variety of mid-sized companies throughout the world. Advanced applications such as Warehouse Pro, EDI, CRM and e-Business provide companies the power to leverage their information technology investment.

As an IT infrastructure and services provider, Mid-Range has been known as the largest provider of System i-based solutions in Canada. Its cross-industry customers depend on the company to design, sell, support, outsource and manage their infrastructure needs across all IBM brands, except for System z.

Mid-Range provides complete disaster recovery, high availability and hosting services to a large, and growing number of enterprises across North America through two data centers in Canada and one in the Caribbean.

This partnership will provide extended benefits to VAI by extending the company’s reach across the Canadian marketplace. VAI will be able to realize opportunities it could not accomplish on its own, while also strengthening its offerings. Mid-Range will gain value by extending its portfolio and branding its name with VAI to enhance market positioning.
