Jenzabar's New ERP Release Claims Financial Aid, Student Life Upgrades
By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing EditorJenzabar, a vendor of software, services and strategies for higher education, has announced what company officials are calling "a comprehensive new release of Jenzabar EX that includes significant advancements for the Financial Aid and Student Life modules."
Jenzabar EX 2.7 also contains "numerous enhancements," designed to "help institutions of higher education increase enrollment and retention rates."
The system has been upgraded to meet the needs of Financial Aid and Student Life offices in particular, company officials say, with schedulers that expedite financial aid processing and automate processes such as disbursements and adjustments to student accounts "among the many enhancements."
Improvements in the Student Life module will allow users to manage and track student information more closely through increased functionality in areas including residence life, vehicle violation, and other violation management.
Jenzabar officials say they've honed in on three key areas that drive results for colleges and universities: Enrollment, Retention and Advancement.
Jenzabar EX, offered on the Microsoft (News - Alert) SQL Server platform, allows administrative and academic staff to access, update, store, and report on data through a common database and a suite of modules.
A little over a month ago the Jenzabarians announced a new corporate direction aimed at "strengthening the customer business processes that are critical to their institutional success."
The corporate strategy concentrates on developing the financial backbone of Institutions of Higher Education by increasing the rate of enrollment, retention, and advancement through consultative services that support Jenzabar technology products.
Based on Jenzabar's experience in the higher education industry, company officials say, the company is "focusing on generating revenue and improving operational performance for customers."
Because the E-R-A success factor affects the financial and operational achievement of an institution, Jenzabar officials say they will offer "more than technology products, but also a consultative approach to utilizing technology products to improve campus business processes."
Earlier this summer Earlier this month Jenzabar announced a partnership with Informz, an integrated e-mail marketing company that enables personalized and targeted communication.
The Informz e-mail marketing system will be integrated with Jenzabar’s admissions and development modules. The offering will enable Jenzabar clients to deliver targeted and tracked e-mail to prospective students, current students, and alumni.
