November 12, 2007

The increasingly successful and popular home agent model has today announced its newest champion: VIPdesk, a provider of home-agent-based contact center solutions and concierge services, announced that the company's founder and CEO, Mary Naylor, has been named to The Telework Coalition’s (TelCoa) Advisory Board.TelCoa is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to bring together a diverse array of organizations, companies and individuals with the common interest of promoting awareness and adoption of existing and emerging telework and telecommuting applications including virtual contact center services.

VIPdesk offers home-based virtual contact center solutions to global brand leaders committed to enhancing their brand experience. The company serves more than 60 clients in the retail, financial services, travel, consumer goods and automotive industries.

“We are honored to have Mary Naylor as a member of our Advisory Board,” said Chuck Wilsker, President and CEO of TelCoa. “She has such a strong belief in the benefits available through the use of home-based workers, not only to VIPdesk but also to the workers themselves and society in general, that I know she will have a lot to add to TelCoa and its focus on supporting and enabling this growing trend.”

VIPdesk operates a customer management outsourcing model called "homeshoring" that uses home-based agents to field various types of customer care inquiries. Industry analyst firm IDC notes there are an estimated 139,000 home-based phone representatives currently in the U.S., and predicts that number could exceed 300,000 by 2010. VIPdesk currently provides remote telework opportunities to more than 90 percent of its workforce. The company’s remote team is expected to grow 640 percent by the end of 2007 to handle a planned 1,120 percent increase in call volume.

“I fully support the mission of TelCoa as the leader of a company with an extensive remote workforce,” said Mary Naylor, CEO of VIPdesk. “It is imperative that groups like TelCoa provide extensive information to the public on telecommuting to grow this movement. I look forward to sharing my VIPdesk experience with TelCoa members, as well as learning from their shared experiences and expertise.”

TelCoa advisory board members provide guidance on a multitude of topics that will contribute to members’ increased knowledge of telecommuting including political, environmental and business continuity issues connected with the subject. Other recently added board members include Paul E. Heacock, President, Human Dynamics, and Patricia Reed, Founding Partner, The Choose2Lead Women's Foundation.
