Webcom Lands New Survalent Quote-to-Order System Client

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Webcom, a vendor of quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, announced that Survalent Technology is deploying WebSource CPQ to "help automate, simplify, and accelerate its quote-to-order process," Webcom officials said. Survalent will use Webcom's SaaS (News - Alert) (Software-as-a-Solution) delivery model to generate quotes, manage complex product configurations, and generate proposals.

Bill Rambo, vice president of marketing at Survalent, said “WebSource CPQ is the perfect on-demand product for our business model, with features and functionality that set it apart from the competition, including robust integration to our CRM system from Salesforce.com (News - Alert)."

Late last year Webcom, a Certified Partner in Oracle (News - Alert) PartnerNetwork, announced that A&D Technology, Inc., a vendor of powertrain testing equipment, was implementing the Webcom WebSource CPQ to "simplify the quote-to-order process."

Chuck Crampo, Director of Operations at A&D Technology said they found the integrated Siebel CRM On Demand and WebSource CPQ from Webcom a "potent combination."

WebSource CPQ, company officials say, is designed to "help drive increased revenues and margins, increased customer satisfaction, reduced costs and improved productivity" requiring "nothing more than a web browser" in the way of hardware.

Basically, the product allows sales people, channel partners and consumers to configure, price, quote and propose products and services.

In May 2006 Webcom announced the availability of Version 5.1 of its WebSource Configuration, Pricing, Quotation & Proposal.

With this latest version, company officials said at the launch, "enterprise customers get a web services API, document content management, currency and market pricing processing, workflow history and analysis, workflow processing, including file attachments, new order management functionality and CRM integration."

Aleks Ivanovic, CEO and founder of Webcom, Inc. said at the time "WebSource CPQ V5.1 is the culmination of our client-driven approach."

The combination of Siebel CRM On Demand and WebSource CPQ allows A&D Technology, company officials hope, to move from opportunity to order, simplify the sales process and configure, price, quote and propose a product or service across all channels, anytime, anywhere.
