Customers today want rich content and they want it delivered immediately. How does the network operator meet this demand? It may help to partner with a proven provider like Contendo. To Learn more, TMCNet’s Rich Tehrani sat down with Misha Kuperman VP of Operations at Cotendo for an interview captured in the video below.

As far as content delivery networks – there is a huge change. Content is becoming personalized and people’s expectation on how quickly the information should be received is changing. Customers now want things delivered in mere seconds. Losing a customer or a sale is measured in seconds, putting more pressure on the network to respond more quickly.

Search engines are also taking speed into account of their ranking algorithms. Cotendo helps companies to solve problems through a suite of services that help accelerated delivered content and to see issues with the network. Accelerate every bit of the food chain, which translates to a very cohesive, real-time experience.

At the end of the day – all companies are looking to avoid risk. Cotendo provides a lot of instrumentation around staging without interrupting production sites. Performance and availability on the eCommerce site to make a faster user experience is a key focus for Cotendo and their DNS allows them to make marginal increases in speed. 30-40 percent better experience for users.

“We received tremendous traffic in Europe. We are opening up an office in France and in Germany to address the market demand. We are very strong in the United States and we’re expanding right now in APAC. You have to remember we are a young company, yet we have very good global coverage. As for verticals, eCommerce is certainly our sweet spot,” said Kuperman.

He went on to point out that Contendo doesn’t just give the customer the technology, they help them to solve the problem using the technology.

As for differentiation, the CDN market partially deals with the one-top-many content and Cotendo does that well, but it is not part of its focus. They instead cater with the value-added service segment when a customer comes in and needs a full suite of products.

Customers are coming to Cotendo for: 1)Performance, which has to be the first step; 2)feature set, no one else offers it and they fall in love with it as they can see immediate change; 3)security, it is a much more sensitive part of the market and they took the extra steps to be sure information is protected and secure.

Next, Cotendo is moving into an interesting space – taking decision making to the edge, which has almost infinite applications for customers day.
