LucyPhone App Waits on Hold So You Don't Have To

July 28, 2010

As a consumer who finds that I must frequently get on the phone with various corporations to negotiate a wireless bill, argue about that fidgety return policy, or yell “Why haven’t you sent me a new debit card yet?!” I’m in luck.

There is one thing I hate more than having to speak to a human with a script who is programmed to appease my furor, and that is having to wait to speak to a human with a script who is programmed to appease my furor. With LucyPhone, a new app from Decogram, I no longer have to wait on hold with customer service portals. LucyPhone waits for me. All I have to do is select the company to call, give Lucy a number to call me back with, and sit tightly until the phone rings all ready to go with a charming customer service representative hanging on with bated breath for me to pick up.

The app works for any company in the United States or Canada with a toll-free, 1-800 line. If the company you are trying to reach is not in LucyPhone’s listing, you can simply plug in the 1-800 number, and Lucy will go ahead with her magic. You are notified of the status of the call, and if for some reason you are disconnected, Lucy will get back in line for you.

In effect, an app such as this one may prove to lower frustration levels of consumers whose incensed manners will be mollified by their new privilege of having the corporation call them. Thanks, LucyPhone, for forever preventing me from having to make faces like this:
