PlantCML Fully Integrates its Call Processing Solution in Okaloosa County

August 18, 2009

PlantCML said that it has fully integrated its next-generation call processing solution, Sentinel Patriot, in Okaloosa County, Fla., in collaboration with telecommunications service provider Embarq.

Okaloosa County is a mission-critical call center serving a population of 182,172 citizens and thousands of visitors. Previously, Okaloosa County was using a PlantCML solution in its primary Public Safety Answering Point.

The PSAP has multiple two-position remotes, including Eglin Fire Department, Eglin Security, Eglin Emergency Response, Crestview Police Department and Ft. Walton Beach and several one-position remotes, including Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Police Department, Hurlburt Fire Department, Niceville Police Department and Valparaiso.

“We needed a solution that would allow us to use our existing ECS-1000 Selective Router in the Central Office and operate our remote locations,” said Silvia Womack, 9-1-1 communications chief for the Okaloosa County Department of Public Safety. In addition, there was also a need for geo-diverse solution that was NG9-1-1 capable.

Womack said that PlantCML delivered all that, allowing Okaloosa County to continue its strong relationship with its citizens and visitors.

An IP-enabled system with flexible configurations, the Sentinel Patriot call processing solution meets the needs of small- to medium-sized call centers. Company officials said that it features a fully integrated private branch exchange that differentiates it from automatic hot redundancy of servers, and eliminates single point of system failure.

Additionally, the Sentinel Patriot solution offers a full suite of computer telephony features include automatic call distribution, automatic number identification and automatic location identification.

Calling Okaloosa County an important site for the company, Dave Rutan, CEO at PlantCML, said “They've been a customer since 1999 and we're pleased that the county chose us as their sole source solution rather than going to bid.”

PlantCML is an EADS North America company. Company is a provider of crisis communications and response technologies and claims to have been pioneering the next generation of E9-1-1 and secure network communications through voice over Internet protocol-enabled applications, interoperable P25 radio systems and advanced emergency notification technologies.

This week, PlantCML also announced that, in collaboration with communications integration provider COMSOUTH, it has upgraded next generation public safety emergency call center with the PlantCML Computer-Aided Dispatch solution, ORION ARIES.
