Plantronics Debuts Plantronics-As-A-Service

July 16, 2014

Plantronics (News - Alert) has pioneered new trends in audio technology for 50 years, creating innovative products that allow people to simply communicate. The company has recently introduced Plantronics-as-a-Service, a hardware subscription program creating a complete, pay-as-you-go communications solution for Cloud Service Providers.

The first available offer from this service is Plantronics Device-as-a-Service, which is a 12, 24, or 36-month program that enables Cloud Service Providers to turn as a one-stop shop for a complete, pay-as-you-go communications solution.

According to the company, the program is ideal for customers to obtain a complete communications solution in a packaged, pay-as-you-go manner from a single Cloud Service Provider.

“As their business needs evolve, customers want a simple and agile way to purchase a complete Unified Communications (News - Alert) solution,” said Erna Arnesen, vice-president, channel and alliance marketing, Plantronics. “The new Device-as-a-Service program makes it easy for the customer and easy for the Cloud Service Provider.”

This new program stimulates sales of the cloud services offerings and complements the customer’s services by adding a recurring revenue stream that has low impact on cash flow. In addition Plantronics handles logistics, customer support and financing for Plantronics products. Users can currently make use of Plantronics UC audio devices from the Voyager, Savi, Blackwire and Calisto families.

Giovanni Mezgec, general manager, Lync Product Marketing, Microsoft (News - Alert) said that many businesses are realizing the value of the OpEx model and they are pleased that Plantronics launched the Plantronics-as-a-Service program and see clear benefits for their Lync customers and Cloud Service Providers.

The company has announced that its current program, Plantronics Device-as-a-Service program, is available to SMB and mid-market customers in the U.S. and will soon introduce this program in other countries along with new products and services.
