Wheelings & Dealings: Golden Gate Capital Acquires Majority Stake in LiveVox

March 25, 2014

Golden Gate Capital, an investment firm with extensive experience in the technology and software sectors, has acquired a majority stake in LiveVox, Inc.

LiveVox is a provider of cloud contact center solutions for enterprise operations. The patented, Verizon PCI-certified cloud platform integrates real-time scalable applications such as ACD/PBX, predictive dialer, IVR, call recording, business analytics, and compliance suite. Leveraging cloud switching, LiveVox enables capabilities like virtual agent queues, global multi-site sub-second warm transfers and centralized call recording.

“LiveVox is well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing demands on companies to become more efficient and responsive to customers’ complex and evolving needs,” said Rajeev Amara, managing director of Golden Gate Capital, in a statement.

Amara said that LiveVox, which already is a market leader, has strong momentum as evidenced by its impressive track record of growth.

He said that the company looks forward to supporting LiveVox’s highly talented management team as they continue to execute their strategic plan for the company, broadening its reach and enhancing its product set.

“This is a strong endorsement for LiveVox and our highly talented workforce, and we look forward to taking advantage of the unique perspective and industry insight that Golden Gate will bring to our company as we continue to expand our product offering and global customer base. We believe Golden Gate is the ideal partner to help us to continue on our strong growth trajectory,” said Louis Summe, chief executive officer of LiveVox.

Earlier in December, Humanetics Innovative Solutions (Humanetics), Inc. and its affiliated companies had announced a partnership agreement with Golden Gate Capital.

Unlike conventional private equity firms, Golden Gate Capital operates as a private holding company, building businesses in partnership with management over an indefinite time horizon. Humanetics will continue with its current leadership team.

Humanetics, a division of Safety Technology Holdings (STH), Inc. has been the leader in the development of biofidelic Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs) and related sensor measurement systems since first introduced during the early 1950s.
