SwitchRay's VoIP Platform v1.8 Provides Hunt and Call Barge-in Functionalities

March 11, 2014

SwitchRay, a provider of telecommunications software, unveiled the newest version of its SR-S5000 VoIP service platform v1.8 that will offer enhanced call center functionality and Hunt Group services in addition to its other features.

The company’s communication service platforms serve the needs of global telecom carriers. SwitchRay’s products feature optimum functionality, scalability, and high reliability, while also enabling customers to build their businesses with reduced investments.

Fathi Hakam, president of SwitchRay, said, “These improved call center features significantly expand the service offering our retail VoIP customers can provide to their end users.”

Officials explained that the new version will offer support to a new call center feature that actually “hunts” for an available operator to answer each incoming call. This will deliver rich queue and call-handling capabilities.

Additionally new call-recording features have been included in the v1.8 of the SR-S5000 besides the capability to view and listen to audio files via the Web interface. “Call Barge-in” is also another new feature which allows for a third party such as a call center supervisor to interrupt or “barge-in” when a call is going on between two other parties.

“By further enhancing our flagship VoIP platform in this way we expect to see a significant increase in our market interest. Our goal is to provide operators with the most effective tools available in order to deliver the highest-quality services to their subscribers,” Hakam added.

Recently SwitchRay announced the acquisition of the intellectual property rights to ALOE Systems’ VoIP products, including MVTS Pro, MVTS II, and RTU.

The companies have signed software license agreements and associated maintenance and support services agreements. ALOE Systems is expected to work as an authorized sales agent for SwitchRay.

ALOE Systems builds softswitch solutions, session border controllers, and IP-based service platforms for VoIP service providers. Its VoIP products, including its Class 4 and Class 5 soft switches, are designed to provide wholesale carriers with a flexible switching engine that ensures connectivity to multiple networks with advanced network security, quality of service, and cost-effective routing management.
