Vetconnexx to Add 300 New Jobs in Duluth Area

November 27, 2013

Vetconnexx, a contact center business, came in to existence after General Larry Ellis, a service-disabled veteran, joined forces with NexxLinx and the Bobby Dodd Institute to launch a veteran-centric Contact Center company.

Vetconnexx mainly provides wounded warriors, veterans and their immediate families with well-meaning post-deployment jobs.

Recently, VetConnexx, in partnership with Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development, has announced that it will soon add 300 jobs to Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta with the opening of its Customer Service Contact Center in the area.

Larry Ellis, co-founder and ceo said in a news release, “We are excited to announce Gwinnett County as the home of our third location in the VetConnexx service offering. We believe this is a thriving community that will enable us to continue providing jobs for veterans, as well as offering excellent support services to our clients.”

The facility is spread across 30,987 square feet and positions VetConnexx within the Greater Gwinnett Place Opportunity Zone, the county’s newest incentive zone in the Gwinnett Place area. An Opportunity Zone enables businesses located within its boundaries to take advantage of the waiver and reduction or exemption of certain taxes.

Opportunity Zones (OZs) are mainly introduced to foster job growth and revitalization, and it is also planned to support areas with a strong economic base, by providing tax incentives to generate the creation of new jobs.

The new centre is currently designed for 300 people, but holds the capacity to accommodate more than 500 people.

“We celebrate the addition of VetConnexx to Gwinnett County and the hundreds of jobs it will bring to families in the area,” stated Gwinnett County Board of Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash. “VetConnexx’s decision to open its new facility in Gwinnett is a testament to our business-friendly community. We are committed to creating an ideal location for companies looking to grow and thrive.”
