ESDS Picks IBM PureSystems to Bring Greater Business Efficiency to Cloud Architecture

July 31, 2013

IT infrastructure services and solutions provider ESDS has selected IBM PureSystems to bring greater business efficiency to its cloud architecture as well as to provide hosting services for its customers.

ESDS was experiencing a surge in customers demand for additional hosting services. The company needed an integrated and scalable system for its cloud offerings. Company officials said that they wanted an infrastructure that rapidly expanded and seamlessly integrated with their existing solutions. s

Also, ESDS was seeking a vendor that could meet its business needs without the hassle of integration issues, which is often the case when multiple vendor products are used in a data center environment.

IBM's family of expert integrated systems, IBM PureSystems, is built for cloud, big data and analytics. According to IBM, PureSystems fundamentally improve the experience and economics of IT by simplifying the entire project lifecycle to reduce time, cost and risk.

ESDS selected IBM PureSystems over Dell and HP after a thorough review of overall capabilities. Company officials said they selected PureSystems because it offered the scale-in system design, cloud-ready architecture, longer life cycle and easy scalability that the company needed.

The IBM PureSystems family offers small and medium enterprises clients an alternative to current enterprise computing models, where multiple and diverse systems require significant resources to set up and maintain.

"We selected IBM’s Smarter Computing approach and PureSystems as it was the best platform to meet our business needs,” said Piyush Somani, CEO and MD at ESDS, adding that the combination of IBM’s technical expertise and focus on driving innovation with advanced technologies will enable the company to grow its business.

Chetan Naik, regional executive for West at IBM India/South Asia, said that the IBM PureSystems is ideal for MSPs evolving to SaaS/PaaS business models, emerging markets, medium sized businesses and application development use.

Moreover, the addition of Flex Systems Manager, an infrastructure system that provides an integrated computing system, will enable ESDS to control its entire IT infrastructure including compute, storage, network and other capabilities, from a single window pane.

IBM PureFlex offers a “compelling value proposition” designed to scale on-demand, depending on our business needs, Somani said. “Life cycle of the product we were considering was another important criteria for us.”

“PureFlex was our only option to have a scalable and flexible cloud infrastructure which can last for next 10 years.”
