Baker & Taylor Launch New Mobile Platform to Enhance Customer Experience

The world's largest distributor of digital and physical books and entertainment products, Baker & Taylor, has announced the launch of its new mobile platform, which will allow consumers to buy and download digital audiobooks on their Apple (News - Alert) and Android devices. Coming soon for libraries, Acoustik is currently live at selected retailers.

The free app is powered by Findaway World LLC, an innovative, industry provider in audiobook distribution.  From a wide range of publishers, Acoustik currently provides consumers access to nearly 40,000 titles, as well as boasts a streamlined, intuitive way of downloading and listening to their favorite content anytime, anywhere.

David Cully, president of Baker & Taylor Retail Markets, stated that in giving consumers, retailers and publishers more choices in the delivery of audio content, the release of Acoustik is an important milestone since digital audio is growing rapidly.

Thanks to the strong partnerships forged by the company, it will allow more great content to be available at the fingertips of consumers who are very eager for it. As part of the Axis (News - Alert) 360 digital media platform, Baker & Taylor and Findaway World plan to launch Acoustik for libraries and its patrons.

He added that users are definitely going to love what they see and hear. Through Apple's App Store and Google Play (formerly Android (News - Alert) Market), Acoustik is available for download, at no charge, on iPhones and iPads and on Android devices.
