Telx to Open Second Expansion in New York City

Telx, a provider of Interconnection solutions, has announced that it added additional space in New York City. The demand for reliable and secure colocation and interconnection services from companies in the financial and the traditional service provider sectors is steadily increasing, according to the company.

 
Telx now has got nearly 50,000 square feet of colocation and interconnection space or 2,000 cabinet equivalents in the New York market, after adding more than 5,000 square feet of space or 330 cabinet equivalents, coupled with the recently announced additional space at 60 Hudson Street, provides.
 
Eric Shepcaro, CEO and Chairman of Telx, said that the company has long been a leader in interconnection and colocation in New York, hence he could proudly say that Telx now has a larger footprint in the two most prominent carrier hotels in New York. He noted that the company is also planning to expand in the New York/New Jersey metro markets; and the interconnection value proposition of Telx has increased substantially providing a greater benefit to Telx customers across all of its facilities.
 
Telx’s position has strengthened in the market of colocation and interconnection in New York City after this expansion. In addition, with their recent announcement of the company’s Metro Cross-Connect service, customers colocated in meet me rooms at either 111 8th Avenue or 60 Hudson Street now have the ability to interconnect to one-another within the same metro market. The additional space at 111 8th Avenue in New York is currently ready for occupancy.
 
In the first quarter of year 2008, Telx’s business has seen nice growth and is expected to have year-over-year revenue growth more than 40 percent. The main reasons behind it are the growing number of existing customers expanding into multiple Telx facilities, and the introduction of 27 new customers in the first quarter of the year. During the same period, the number of cross connections of the company has exceeded 1,300.
