Zultys Enables Tight Third-Party Integration via Flex Communicator

July 02, 2012

Zultys today unveiled Zultys Flex Communicator, which enables integration between third-party business applications like customer relationship management systems and the Zultys MX Unified Communications system. That can, for example, generate screen pops and trigger record look-ups when an incoming call is received.

When a call comes in, Zultys Flex Communicator executes the configured application or launches a web URL, with a search for the caller number and/or name, the company explains, adding that it works both with installed programs and browser-based applications or websites.

"We had an engineering company that needed screen pops to their Exact Synergy Software, and it was very costly to build the link to the software, but with the Zultys Communicator this was done quickly, easily and it’s very reliable," says Jason Smith, vice president at Midland Communications.

Zultys is a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company that sells an appliance delivering IP PBX, UC and call center functionality. The company has offices in Australia, Brazil, China and Russia. Zultys Flex Communicator is just one of the Zultys solutions that allows for tight integration with third-party applications. The company also offers Zultys Salesforce Communicator and Zultys Outlook Communicator.

As discussed in a TMC cover story on Zultys, the company in recent years has been staging a comeback under relatively new ownership and management. Zultys reported that between 2009 and 2010 it was able to double sales and establish more than 100 channel partnerships in North America alone.

“So we’ve been having great success,” chairman and CEO, Neil Lichtman said in an interview for the April 2011 story.

Lichtman, a 27-year veteran of the phone system and UC business, joined Zultys in November of 2009. Then, in 2010, Lichtman brought his long-time co-worker Steven Francis, who now serves as chief sales and marketing officer at Zultys, aboard. The two men and their staff are now working to bring Zultys, which already is well known in the industry by its competitors and the channel partner community, center stage in the UC arena.
