Alcatel-Lucent and Convergys Announce Partnership
By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk EditorIn a bid to provide their customers with improved billing and customer care, Alcatel-Lucent and Convergys (News - Alert) have announced a multi-year, non-exclusive agreement. The partnership will allow Alcatel-Lucent to integrate Convergys Infinys applications into their Business Support System (BSS) solution to offer service providers a single BSS solution for today's service needs.
"This partnership provides a key element of the converged BSS solution addressing service provider needs to improve business operations, with a single business software system that supports different payment methods, different services (voice, multi-media, blended lifestyle services), along with the evolution to fixed mobile convergence," said Jean-Pierre Gaillat, Alcatel-Lucent's (News - Alert) VP of the global OSS/BSS and Software Integration Professional Services Practice.
With the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will further strengthen its BSS solution by providing pre-integrated solutions that are easier to integrate and deploy.
"Alcatel-Lucent's highly flexible rating and charging product capabilities and open interfaces complement Convergys' applications for prepaid and postpaid offers," said Joelle Gauthier, Alcatel-Lucent's VP Convergent Payment Solutions.
Convergys’ Infinys software meets the requirement of service providers in all sectors requiring advanced BSS and provides clients with BSS that drives profitability and supports business aspirations.
By partnering with Alcatel-Lucent, Convergys is also able to extend its market reach of Infinys thanks to Alcatel-Lucent's global presence.
"This Reseller agreement breaks new ground for Convergys. By working with Alcatel-Lucent we are extending our business model to enable more operators to benefit from the fully convergent pre- and postpaid capabilities of Infinys. It also allows us to extend our distribution reach into new geographies and markets. We have been working closely with Alcatel-Lucent for some time on this solution and are delighted with the progress we have jointly achieved in terms of client interest and active proposals," said Bob Lento, President Information Management at Convergys.
Convergys also announced today the expansion of its operations in the Philippines with the addition of five new integrated contact centers throughout the country. This 50 percent increase in the country will bring their total number of contact centers to 14 in the Philippines.
