LG-Ericsson USA Announces Availability of Property Management Software for Hotels

March 08, 2012

LG-Ericsson USA has launched iPECS-LIK Hotel, a specific version of the company’s iPECS-LIK communication management software that is delivered with the company’s IP communications systems.

Officials with LG-Ericsson USA said that the easy-to-use iPECS-LIK Hotel provides large property automation for smaller properties at an affordable price point.

Company officials pointed out that as an alternative to the standard iPECS-LIK Office software for business, the application is provided free of charge with iPECS-LIK integrated IP Communications systems.

“The benefits of moving a property’s telecommunications to an LG-Ericsson pure IP system are made even more impressive when that system can help track room status, charges and more, in addition to providing cost-effective property-wide IP telephony and other communications services,” said Iain Kenney, director of product marketing for LG-Ericsson USA, in a statement.

Kenney said that iPECS-LIK Hotel is that oft referred to ‘killer app’ that will drive network installations or expansions for many smaller properties.

“And, the full infrastructure can be built with robust, economical LG-Ericsson-USA network switches that combine high bandwidth with ease of management and traffic-prioritizing features like QoS to keep the voice traffic flowing while optimizing the network for data systems as well,” said Kenney.

Kenney said that iPECS-LIK provides excellent performance, whether on a centralized or a distributed network, providing the flexibility to adapt to the reality of a converged network.

According to company officials, iPECS-LIK Hotel works with iPECS-LIK’s pure IP communications systems to provide inventory control and charges management for hotel rooms/guests.

An ideal solution for small to mid-sized independent properties of 100 rooms or fewer, the functionality is built-into the same software that manages the voice system, so the investment pulls double duty: it’s a complete all-in-one system, providing phone services for guests, and guest room management for the business.

Using room-installed handsets, hotel housekeeping staff can communicate occupancy and/or cleaning status of rooms; minibar attendants can log charges. Front office staff can use the same phone handset interface or a Web-based GUI to manage and track room rates, guest charges, check-in/check-out, moves/changes, folio printing and more.

In other news, LG-Ericsson USA recently expanded its portfolio of integrated voice-video-data communications solutions with the addition of a new business-enabled communications system that offers comprehensive business communications for mixed TDM/IP environments. Called iPECS-MG, the solution is currently available through LG-Ericsson's trained and certified resellers.
