Star Telecom's SIP Services Earns Avaya Contact Center Solutions Certification

February 01, 2012

The SIP-based services suite from Star Telecom has now been certified as compatible with Avaya's range of contact center solutions. Businesses leveraging the SIP Trunking service from Star Telecom are said to benefit from reducing costs and increasing effectiveness within their contact centers.

In a release, Miroslav Mostic, CTO for Star Telecom, said, “Achieving compatibility with Avaya reaffirms Star Telecom’s commitment to standards-based SIP solutions targeted at the contact center vertical. This level of interoperability goes beyond simple SIP integration and opens the door to hosted call recording, IVR, call routing, call queuing and other applications traditionally provided on-premise. The new technology may impact contact center applications in the same way other cloud technologies have impacted computing in general.”

Avaya tested the SIP-based services suite from Star Telecom for compatibility with its Aura Communication Manager 5.2.1 and its Aura Session Manager 6.1 with the Acme Packet Net-Net SBC.

Contact center organizations which have deployed services from Star Telecom have benefited from up to 65 percent reduction in telecommunication expenses in addition to benefiting from savings that arise from increased level of efficiency in operations, according to company sources.

Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations, Avaya, said, “A new generation of telecommunications services and solutions providers, like Star Telecom, are expanding the choices available to Avaya contact center customers. With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance-tested for interoperability, our customers are able to integrate communications with critical business processes to improve customer service and uncover new value that can help them build their bottom line.”
