ERP From Sage's Adonix Picked by Langley/Empire

Adonix, a Sage company and vendor of enterprise resource planning products to mid-market companies, has announced that Langley/Empire Candle Company has selected the Sage ERP X3 Process software suite to manage its production operations.

Based in Kansas City, Kansas, Langley/Empire Candle Company produces over 300 types of candles, specializing in handcrafted, scented candles made by American workers. The company distributes through big box retailers like Wal-Mart and Kmart, as well as through an online storefront.

"Our legacy solution couldn't support our business processes," said Erik Williams, Director of Information Technology for Langley/Empire. "And, we couldn't anticipate problems before they occurred. Since a lot of our processes were still followed up by hand, we couldn't get real numbers until 60 days out."

Sage ERP X3's dashboards are expected to help boost the manufacturer's profits by "providing instantaneous access to key company data, allowing management to react to changing business conditions," Adonix officials say.

The newly released Sage ERP X3 version 5 also features a business intelligence
engine, which allows users to analyze their business performance on the fly, by simple drag and drop of aggregated data that is updated in real- time with the flow of daily operations.

In addition to managing manufacturing, distribution, CRM, warehouse management and accounting functions, the ERP system includes industry-specific capabilities such as formula management, quality control, regulatory compliance and lot tracking.

Adonix North America is a fully owned company of The Sage Group, a $2.3 billion organization and supplier of business management software and services to 5.5 million customers worldwide. Located near Pittsburgh, the company is the North American arm of Sage ERP X3 operations.

Early this month, Sage Software (News - Alert) announced the opening of its new facility in Richmond, British Columbia to house the Canadian operations and global development teams for its Sage Accpac ERP and Simply Accounting by Sage product lines.

The new building, which Sage Software has leased on a long-term basis, is immediately south of the former Sage Software Richmond operations center, and is located at 13888 Wireless Way. The new campus currently houses approximately 400 employees, with room for up to 650.

"Sage has a long history in Canada with our Accpac and Simply Accounting lines," said Laurie Schultz, Sage Software general manager for Sage Accpac and Simply Accounting by Sage.

The new Sage Software campus facility has many new amenities, highlighted by a new User Centered Design lab. Sage Software uses UCD labs companywide to research product usability and the needs of small and medium-sized businesses for developing new products and services, such as Sage Accpac ERP, and Simply Accounting by Sage.
