KWI, VeriFone Join to Deliver Mobile POS for Brighton Collectibles Stores

January 17, 2012

KWI has inked an agreement with VeriFone to deliver KWI Cloud 9 Mobile Point-of-Sale (Mobile POS) to Brighton Collectibles, introducing new aspects to the retail industry in cloud-based technology.

In a release, Jerry Kohl, CEO of Brighton Collectibles, said, “We wanted to get out from behind the counter and get in front of the customer. When a customer sees something they like, we want to engage with them right there. It makes the transaction a lot easier and saves time. That also makes it easier for shoppers to justify a return visit.”

It was revealed that KWI Cloud 9 Mobile POS will feature VeriFone GlobalBay technology, which is expected to help store associates who are always behind the counters working on plugged-in POS terminals.

The technology will enable them to perform sales functions on the floor in one seamless transaction enhancing the delivery of a customer-centric experience. The store associates will be able to carry out CRM, inventory, and receiving functions all from the cloud and not standing behind the counters.

KWI officials said advantages abound for store guests, as they will not need to stand in long lines and be hampered during their shopping experience.

Brighton Collectibles, a specialty retailer owning 170 stores, implemented the KWI Cloud 9 solution in fall 2011 to leverage all benefits. Brighton Collectibles, after successfully deploying the Mobile POS solution, looks forward to scaling down its fixed POS in all stores. This is expected to open up more space for merchandise and customer interaction. It will also bring down overhead and maintenance costs of traditional POS, added officials.

Sandeep Bhanote, VeriFone vice president and general manager of the Mobile Retail Systems business, remarked, “VeriFone partnered with KWI because of their unique ability to deliver Mobile POS as a service provider from the Cloud. Together we’ve created the perfect solution for retailers looking to deploy Mobile POS rapidly and efficiently, without the cost and risk of managing cutting-edge technology in-house.”

Mobile strategies have become imperative for businesses to stay ahead. Businesses have to deliver unique seamless customer experiences. This can be achieved, according to KWI officials, by implementing Mobile POS.

Sam Kliger, KWI founder and CEO, stated, “KWI is excited to bring this solution to market with industry leader VeriFone. We see this as great way for our clients to extend the power of our cloud based-services into the shopping experience. It’s definitely a game-changer in the retail world.”
