Interactive Intelligence Certifies AudioCodes' Mediant 800 E-SBCs

October 26, 2011

AudioCodes' Mediant 800 Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) are now certified for use with the Customer Interaction Center (CIC), the all-in-one IP communications software suite from Interactive Intelligence, a leader in the call center software solutions space.

The certification extends a decade-long relationship between Interactive Intelligence and the VoIP solutions provider, which have worked together on PCI boards, media gateways, and now, E-SBCs.

Moving forward, the Mediant 800 E-SBCs will be resold with CIC, allowing end users to perform SIP interoperability mediation, perimeter defense and other functions by interfacing directly with SIP trunking service providers. The interoperability will also enable users of the CIC communication software suite to slowly migrate from TDM trunking to SIP trunking with just one device. This is due to the fact that the E-SBCs are based on AudioCodes' Mediant Media Gateway hardware and software platforms.

"The AudioCodes Mediant 800 E-SBC plays an important role in providing access to secure SIP trunking, remote agent features, and the ability to integrate CIC with mobile devices," Jeff Gerardot, Interactive Intelligence VP of Development, noted in a statement. "The E-SBCs will play an increasingly important role in providing connectivity to highly distributed businesses in particular."

Alan Percy, Director of Market Development for AudioCodes, added that the certification reinforces his company's commitment to providing "an easy migration path from legacy TDM environments to pure SIP services using a common platform."

AudioCodes notes in the release that customers who own existing AudioCodes Mediant Media Gateways can also make the move to SIP trunking without needing to purchase a separate device. This can be accomplished by simply upgrading to E-SBC software licenses. The company's Mediant Media Gateways also enable the local termination of emergency calls while ensuring branch survivability.

The certification announcement was made at the Interactive Intelligence 2011 Global Partner Conference, which kicked off yesterday Indianapolis, Indiana. AudioCodes is presenting and exhibiting at the show.
