Interactive Intelligence Achieves 46 Percent Job Growth in Indiana

September 22, 2011

Interactive Intelligence Group, a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, announced it has crossed the 1,000-plus total employee mark – 601 of which are based in Indiana where the company has achieved 46 percent job growth with the addition of 190 employees in permanent positions since January 1, 2010.

“More than products, patents, or distribution channels, our employees are our most valuable asset,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown, in a statement. “An Indiana headquarters since our founding has enabled us to recruit and retain an amazing staff of loyal, hard-working and passionate individuals.”

Interactive’s average annual salary for Indiana employees of $71,000 is a full 78 percent above the state average, company officials said.

According to Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, this job growth is a testament to the fact that Indianapolis remains a great place to do business and is well positioned for the future.

“The company’s continued investment in Indianapolis is a boost to our growing technology industry, and the jobs Interactive Intelligence provides are exactly the types of quality jobs we are focused on bringing to the city,” Ballard said.

Interactive Intelligence recorded another significant milestone earlier this summer, achieving more than $1 billion in cumulative revenue associated with the licensing, deployment, training and support of its solutions.

Given the challenging economic times, this achievement is significant according to Brown.

“We’re successfully competing against Silicon Valley-based companies that are ten times our size, and that’s yet another testament to the very special people who call this place home,” he added.

The company also won several industry accolades since its founding in 1994. Some of these achievements include Forbes Magazine’s Best Small Companies in America, BusinessWeek’s Hot Growth 50, and Fortune Small Business Magazine’s Fastest Growing Public Companies. In addition to these, the company has won several local awards too.

In April, Interactive Intelligence announced CRM magazine has named Interactive Intelligence among its 2011 Service Leaders. The company was named a service leader in its Contact Center Infrastructure category. Interactive Intelligence did particularly well on two criteria, scoring a 4.2 in customer satisfaction and 4.0 in company direction (out of a total possible score of 5).
