NET Completes Interoperability Testing of VX Series Gateway with Interactive Intelligence's CIC

July 07, 2011

Network Equipment Technologies has announced that it has completed interoperability testing of its VX Series gateway, a multi-function voice switch that reduces and consolidates IP PBX infrastructure for distributed networks, for use with the Interactive Intelligence all-in-one IP communications software suite, Customer Interaction Center (CIC).

The integration is designed to help contact centers and enterprises more easily and securely access existing communications devices.

“Completion of interoperability testing between the VX Series and CIC gives our joint customers added choice and the assurance of a reliable and proven solution for accessing existing communications devices,” said Joe Staples, Interactive Intelligence’s chief marketing officer.

CIC’s standards-based, single-platform architecture, which runs a host of contact center automation and enterprise IP telephony applications, was designed to eliminate the cost and complexity introduced by multipoint products.

“Using our enterprise-grade VX Series gateway with session border controller, customers can securely integrate their CIC solution with both SIP and non-SIP-based networks for simplified infrastructure,” said Kevin Isacks, NET’s chief technology officer.

According to the company, NET’s VX Series’ “any-to-any” signaling enables connections between CIC SIP-based applications and a broad range of PSTN and IP protocols, including SS7/C7 and H.323/SIP inter-working. The VX Series also provides scalable IPSEC, SRTP & TLS encryption for VoIP communications. A single VX can provide up to 1000 simultaneous calls with call rates peaking at over 100 calls per second.

Testing was performed by NET, which has been delivering high performance networking equipment optimized for real-time communications for more than a quarter of a century, in conjunction with Interactive Intelligence’s third-party validation program.
