Terrapin and Blue Mountain Partner with Pac-West Telecom for Telastic Solution

February 24, 2011

According to a joint announcement, Terrapin Solutions and Blue Mountain Networks, LLC, have selected the Telastic solution from Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., in order to launch a new cloud-based Communications-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform for the hospitality market.

A Cloud Telephony Management Software Developer and Solutions Integrator, Blue Mountain believes the partnership will revolutionize the hospitality industry. The company manufactures patent pending software which manages a hotel’s communications infrastructure and services.

The software will be layered over the uniquely flexible and scalable Telastic platform, enabling hotels to experience the benefits of shared resources and redundancy across multiple locations, the latest features made immediately available, and the ability to scale up or down based on room occupancy, all as a non-capital expenditure investment.

Al Mataban, CTO of Blue Mountain Networks, said, "We expect most hotels will find that their communications costs are reduced significantly as a result of implementing this technology."

Terrapin, which designs cloud solutions for businesses, will now join hands with Blue Mountain to begin the process of introducing this ground-breaking communications solution to the hospitality vertical, so that the telephony platform chosen by a hotel can become a business driver and differentiator in the industry.

"This model changes everything for telephony in the hospitality space," said Andrew Pryfogle, president and CEO of Terrapin, in a statement."Not only does it significantly drive down telephony costs for hotels, it also turns the hotel’s telephony platform back into a revenue generating machine."Telastic’s carrier grade switching platform has the capacity to scale into hundreds of thousands of rooms in hotels, located anywhere in the world. The real game-changer here, though, is the unprecedented ability of hotels to pay only for those rooms that are checked in on a daily basis. Combine that with on-property mobility integration, and hotels can move on from simple cost-cutting to revenue creation.

TMC recently reported that Terrapin will provide Appia's cloud telephony-based communication and networking services through the company's agent network. As a member of Appia's rapidly growing network of partners, Terrapin is authorized to distribute all of Appia's managed voice, data, video and networking services to businesses and organizations nationwide.
