Webcom Completes Statement on Auditing SAS 70 Type II Audit

February 01, 2011

Webcom, Inc., a leader in simplified quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, has successfully completed the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II audit, which assesses the operational effectiveness of internal controls within service organizations.

A widely-recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SAS 70 certifies that Webcom, Inc., employs uniform and reliable operational controls to safeguard the data of its more than 100 customers and 50,000 users worldwide.

“Webcom takes great pride in leading the industry with our focus on operational effectiveness and security implementation for our customers,” said Chris Lesar, executive vice president at Webcom, in a press release. “As a global SaaS (software as a service) provider, it's essential for Webcom to have effective internal controls and standards in place to protect customer data. A recognized and comprehensive SAS audit gives our customers reassurance about the global processes and controls we have in place,” added Lesar.

"Being a public company with an expanding customer base, it's very important that the companies we work with have safeguards in place to protect the security, privacy and sensitivity of our customer data," said Andy Urda, general manager at Fuji Electric, in a statement. "We implemented WebSource CPQ to streamline our sales processes, and when considering our options, we found Webcom's careful and strict operational controls to be one of their differentiators in the market. We congratulate them on achieving SAS 70 Type II Certification."

Webcom is instrumental in providing software solutions that simplify the configuring, pricing, quoting and case management processes. WebSource CPQ requires only a browser to operate. It allows customers to configure, price, quote and propose their offerings across multiple sales and distribution channels, anytime, anywhere. ResponsAbility, Webcom’s case management software, gives organizations the power of real-time planning and fast communication by tracking, prioritizing, and coordinating software bugs.
