Accu-Time Systems Introduces New Workforce Management Terminal

January 12, 2011

Accu-Time Systems introduced its new AccuTouch workforce management terminal with integrated optical fingerprint reader from Lumidigm Inc.

“We have been working with Lumidigm for several months to incorporate their innovative Mercury reader into our workforce management terminals. The new multispectral reader allows our customers to have a biometric option in environments where using biometrics was not previously feasible,” said Larry Dawson, Accu-Time Systems’ vice president of Marketing, in a press release. “This fingerprint technology is completely different from existing conventional fingerprint readers. It virtually eliminates enrollment and false read issues. This leads to less management oversight, lower training costs, higher user satisfaction, and greater return on investment.”

Accu-Time Systems’ AccuTouch workforce management terminal with integrated Lumidigm Mercury reader is available for purchase. The company has designed it for dry, dirty, dusty, wet, hot, or cold environments and has also designed a unique finger placement slot for AccuTouch to guide the user’s finger into the proper location to get the best fingerprint image.

According to a release, the Mercury reader uses Lumidigm’s patented multispectral imaging technology to provide high quality biometric performance regardless of environment or the user’s skin condition.

“The bar for fingerprint performance, reliability, and durability has been raised to an entirely new level,” said Bill Spence, Lumidigm’s vice president of Transaction Systems, in a statement. “All of Lumidigm’s inherent technology advantages, combined with a lightning fast “tap and go” user interface, ensure huge reductions in enrollment problems, enrollment training time and improper reads. That means less hassles and greater ROI for end users and channel partners.”
