Kaba Enhances Workforce Management for Major Diesel Engine Manufacturer

October 18, 2007

Fairbanks Morse Engine, an EnPro Industries company and a diesel engine technology provider has selected Kaba Workforce Solutions’ workforce management technology, AutoTime for Oracle to enhance its enterprise system.

As a premier producer of customized medium-speed diesel engine, parts and services Fairbanks Morse Engine has a labor force of 380 employees. The company has installed AutoTime for Oracle for approximately 290 shop floor and salaried employees at its manufacturing plant in Beloit, Wisconsin.

“We are pleased to be able to provide Fairbanks Morse Engine with our premier workforce management solution and are confident that their selection will not only enhance their existing system but will also offer greater efficiencies that will significantly reduce the costs associated with managing their workforce,” said John C. Edwards, president and chief executive officer for Kaba Workforce Solutions in a statement.

Edwards said that AutoTime’s unique capability to track work orders, operations and tasks will offer significant upstream management decision-making advantages.

By implementing Kaba Workforce Solution’s AutoTime for Oracle, Fairbanks Morse Engine can leverage the labor data within their ERP system for automatic calculations, analytics and reporting for shop floor management and payroll. Kaba explains that with one swipe, employee data is collected and sent bi-directionally to the ADP payroll and Oracle business systems.

By leveraging this capability, Fairbanks Morse Engine will better assess shop floor productivity and efficiency. Additionally, this information will enable the manufacturer to direct resources to improve performance and take advantage of efficiencies.
