HP Launches CentralView to Analyze Customer Data

September 18, 2007

HP today announced the release of HP CentralView business software solutions, a portfolio of solutions to unlock the value from the vast stores of customer and operational data.

This will help communications, media and entertainment (CME) companies. The monitoring and analyzing tools of these solutions enable users to rapidly transform customer-related data into business information for decision-makers. Based on the customer data analysis by HP CentralView, CME companies can plan and confidently launch new services and increase revenue.

HP CentralView provides CME companies with consolidated access to batch and real-time data from multiple "siloed" operations and business support systems (OSS and BSS) by utilizing the capabilities of enterprise data warehouse platforms. CME companies can plan specific solutions incrementally. Plus they can integrate their legacy applications fully.

In the backdrop of complex service offerings to cater to the consumer-driven market, many service providers are looking for a competitive weapon, which is their own data, said Karl Whitelock, senior consulting analyst, Stratecast, a division of Frost and Sullivan. The suite distills massive amounts of customer-centric data, Whitelock explains.

More features and applications of the HP CentralView are outlined by Whitelock in a video interview at http://video.telecomtv.com/hp/centralview.wmv.

"HP CentralView is the culmination of our many years of IT and CME experience," said Ananda Subbiah, vice president, Solutions, Communications, Media and Entertainment, HP, in a press release. "CME companies need an approach that is both comprehensive and adaptable, and HP CentralView provides that. CME providers also need a single vendor that will be accountable for all the components, including service and support, anywhere in the world -- and HP provides that, too."

The solutions offered by HP CentralView include:

--Credit Risk Control
--Customer Retention
--Dealer Performance Audit
--Fraud Risk Management
--Revenue Leakage Control
--Subscription Fraud Prevention
--Video Usage Insight to know customers' video behavior

HP is reportedly planning to offer more data analysis software later this year.
