October 13, 2010

Urbandale, Iowa-based GSM network wireless carrier, i wireless, launched CostGuard OSS/BSS from Info Directions, a developer of net-centric billing, rating, order management, workflow and selling solutions for the telecommunications industry.

Info Directions’ line of software solutions and its SAS 70 ASP services is helping i wireless to manage rating, billing, customer care and retail operations.

i wireless has 250 store locations across Iowa, western Illinois and eastern Nebraska. The company has now moved to CostGuard, and by doing was able to perform several functions: automate operations, add support for enhanced data products, and take advantage of new retail point of sale capabilities.

i wireless decided to add electronic bill payment and presentment capabilities with Info Directions’ OnlineBill solution. Info Directions says that the implementation of CostGuard is supporting i wireless to continue building on its customer focus.

i wireless launched its 3G network in September and this offers the company’s customers 10x faster data speeds. The networks will also give users to text, e-mail, or surf the Web while talking on their 3G phone in chosen Iowa markets and about 130 US cities.

In a press release, Mike Haskins, CEO of i wireless, said that implementation of CostGuard will help their customers to have the best user experience possible, from call to care. He added that CostGuard has given them the ability to deliver competitive service and support and still control costs.

“It is a pleasure to work with progressive carriers, like i wireless, that demonstrate such a commitment to the customers they serve,” said Donald Culeton, president and CEO of Info Directions. “For i wireless, CostGuard’s flexibility will most certainly prove valuable as the company undertakes additional growth plans in the coming months and years. i wireless clearly has the vision needed to remain competitive in today’s wireless market.”
