Appirio Introduces Cloud Broker Technology

September 17, 2010

Although adoption of cloud has soared in the recent times, most of the enterprises are not using the right technology to utilize the cloud in its full potentials. As for example, with a cloud brokerage system in place, the IT enterprises will be able to better leverage the cloud-model.

Appirio, a cloud-solution provider has come up with a technology to address this challenge.

Appirio has been helping the companies to accelerate their cloud applications and platforms.  The company has brought about the first ever cloud broker technology. The technology is expected to help enterprises unleash information from SaaS silos, solving a growing problem faced by enterprises who are moving multiple applications to the cloud.

In the release, announcing the lunch, Appirio informed that its CloudWorks product enables companies to build solutions that connect SaaS applications from leaders like Google, salesforce.com, Workday and their ecosystem partners twice as fast, at one-third the cost of alternative approaches. The resulting cross-cloud solutions serve businesses by increasing productivity and improving data quality and compliance.

CloudWorks also makes it easier for IT to manage data, users and processes across SaaS applications, and provide better access to SaaS information on mobile devices.

Appirio announced three types of cross-cloud solutions built on CloudWorks: packaged Appirio solutions for sales and HR (SalesWorks and PeopleWorks); custom solutions that can be created for a specific enterprise need (CustomWorks); and partner solutions that leverage the CloudWorks foundation.

“As a public company with 90 locations in 29 countries with 7,800 employees, we are always looking for ways to arm our employees with the tools they need to be more productive. We had already invested in Salesforce CRM and Google Apps as part of our overall on-demand strategy, and are looking to SalesWorks to help us bring these applications together and get more from them. If our sales people don't have to re-enter or change information in multiple applications, it not only makes their life easier but can also increase system adoption and overall data quality,” Matt Vandenbush, Director of IT Strategy and Architecture, Brady Corporation said in praise of CloudWorks.
